Incident

While on a flood rescue mission, KSP Water Patrol Officer David Childs and Trooper James McNeely drowned after their boat was swept over the dam at Lock 4 in Frankfort. The two canoeist that they were searching for were later found safe.

Officer Childs was a veteran of the Korean War.
