Dear Grandfather...Each Holiday you have been missed. We have always heard of how great a Man and Policeman you were. Our Father Gerald Greene still speaks as if you were here today. We will never let your memory die. We were very young when you passed away but it seems through the eyes of others you were a HERO! You would be very proud of your Grandchildren now. There are six of us and all of us has been introduced to higher learning.

You have one granddaughter who is a Medical Doctor and has traveled extensively to under developed countries to assist those in need. You also have a granddaughter who is a Practicing Attorney here in Indianapolis, also a daughter who recently received her B.A. Degree in Criminal Justice. Three Grandsons who are educated, hard working young men who are also great Dads. You would be very Proud of them. As the saying goes "We are a chip off the old block." We surely miss you and love you and wish you were here to celebrate Christmas with us. We will continue to be good citizens and Christians so we can be as great as our Grandfather..Warren E. Green

With sincere Pride I salute my Father for the effortless dedication he made by serving the Indianapolis Police Department and the citizens of our great city. As his son all I remember growing up was seeing my Dad in his uniform. Through his dedication he taught myself and my siblings the meaning of being good citizens. My Dad was buried on Christmas Eve 1975. While assisting a person who had been shot, the shooter then killed him. He was liked and respected by many people while doing Community Policing. He would exit his patrol car and have conversations with any and everyone. My Father is terribly missed.
