There are no words that will make the pain any less for the loss of a husband, father, son, brother, friend...and a truly giving person. We pay tribute to those that have given all so that others my benefit. Our thoughts and prayers are with Lieutenant Drake's family and friends during this time of mourning. May there be some small comfort in knowing that so many across the nation are grieving with you.

My heart goes out to the family of our fallen hero, Lieutenant Rick Drake. Rick was an amazing friend, father, husband, and human. His steadfast belief in his faith was something most of us only hope to achieve. He loved his country and proudly served to protect us all. He will be greatly missed. Our prayers go up that those closest to him will find comfort, peace, and strength. To his brothers and sisters in service, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. RIP Rick...we love you.

To My Brothers and Sisters Of German Township, my thoughts and prayers go out to you. Just remember in finding comfort in all this Rick died doing what he loved.

When I am called to duty, God

Wherever Flames may rage,

Give me strength to save some life

Whatever Be its age.

Help me embrace a little child

Before it is too late,

Or save an older person from

The horror of that fate.

Enable me to be alert and

Hear the weakest shout,

And quickly and efficiently

To put the fire out.

I want to fill my calling

And give the best in me,

To guard my every neighbor

And protect their property.

And if according to your will

I should lose my life,

Please bless with your protecting hand

My children and my wife.
