I had the privaledge of working with Bruce for seven years at Rotary Lift. Bruce was always talking about doing something else with his life as far as careers go and had mentioned possibly going back to school and becoming a teacher or some other field besides factory work. One night he came in all exited about a sheriff deputy position that was posted in the local paper.I was honoured when Bruce came and asked me if I would be a reference on his application. Through each stage of the application process Bruce would keep me updated on his progress and ask advice on what to do for the next step. I sort of became his "coach" throughout the entire process. I had to take a few weeks of medical leave when the final selection was made, so when I got back to work I learned that Bruce had gotten the job and had left Rotary a couple weeks before. I did not get to tell him bye or congratulate him. I thiught that I might run in to him at an emergency incident since I worked with one of the county fire departments and often crossed paths with county deputies. That time never came. I was very saddened to here of Bruce's tragic accident and death. It has been almost a year now and there is not a day that goes by that I don't think of him when I pass the Sheriff's office on my way to and from work. I only wish that I could have told him how proud I am of his hard work that he put forth to become one of Jefferson County's Heroes. Gone but NOT Forgotten
We miss you so much Bruce. Our lives will never be the same. The void will never be filled. While we are so sad by your passing we rejoice that you are in heaven with our Dad. Love and miss you, P.K.
I was so saddened after hearing from Paul that Brucie had passed. To the family- take comfort in knowing that God has His loving arms around you. Nothing can take away the hurt when someone is taken so young, but, God will bring you through this. It is nice to know he was such an upstanding man... from a quick search on the internet it was obvious how highly he was thought of. God bless you all and know that you will see him again one day.
Thank You

To have touched the life of the person in the funeral shroud
