EMT Maxwell and his partner, Paramedic Marsha Rainey, were murdered while on duty inside the Pike County EMS Headquarters. Both were shot at close range.
Mr. Maxwell was an advanced EMT for Pike County Emergency Medical Service and also worked part-time for Memorial Hospital EMT Service. He was an active member of Jefferson Township Vol Fire Dept/Rescue Squad 58. Brad served as a maintenance officer for both Depts and had taken a primary instructor course and was soon to be certified. A co-worker was convicted of both slayings and received a life sentence without the possibility of parole.
