Incident

While responding to a fire in a television cabinet factory, the pumper that Firefighter Barnard was driving collided with a flatbed truck. Firefighter Barnard was thrown from the truck and under the wheels of the flatbed. He was pronounced dead on his arrival at Deaconess Hospital. The accident also claimed the life of Firefighter Charles Hoffman and injured Firefighter Francis Titzer.
