Incident

Firefighter Raymond Moore and Firefighter Jerry Poole were responding to a grass fire when the engine they were riding on was struck by an automobile at State Street and Pleasant Run Parkway. The truck overturned killing Firefighter Moore instantly. Firefighter Poole died from his injuries the next day.

Both firefighters worked out of Station #3 in Fountain Square.
