Incident

Officer Jason Cammack was killed in a single vehicle accident while attempting to stop a speeding vehicle.

Officer Cammack was travelling eastbound on I-64 near the Midway exit in Woodford County when he observed a vehicle pass in the westbound lanes speeding. Officer Cammack attempted to cross the median and accelerate into the westbound lanes, but lost control of his vehicle during the U-turn and struck a stone embankment. He was flown to a local hospital, but succumbed to his injuries an hour later.

Officer Cammack was the first KVE Officer killed in the line of duty.
