Incident

Pilot Greene, along with 3 other crew members, died when their helicopter ambulance crashed into a rural mountainside in dense fog. The four crew members were heading for home after a quiet day.

He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He was an aviation mechanic for Petroleum Helicopters, Inc. from 1976-1982, a helicopter pilot/mechanic for Petroleum Helicopters from 1982-1987, a pilot for the Tennessee Valley Authority from 1987-1988, director of operations and flight captain for Triad Helicopters, Inc. from 1988-1989. Don had been a helicopter pilot for Petroleum Helicopters, Inc. since his return in 1990.
