Frank trained me, as a new officer in 1975. I will always remember and look up to him as a role model.
Dad..I miss you so much. I hope u are with mom and dancing in Heaven together. Still seems like yesterday!! Wish u were still here with me! I love u and missed terribly!! Never forgotten! 💔
I recall seeing all the JCPD units in the area of Smyrna Rd. and E. Manslick that day as I left a nearby friend's house, and only learning from the news after getting home what had happened.
It would still be a little over 2 years from that day before I was hired by LPD, but I remembered thinking what a heavy heart this officer's friends on the department and family must be feeling. At just a little over 22 years old at that time, I suppose it was one of the first times I had really paused to consider that the police I always saw out on patrol (or even stopped by for a minor traffic offense as a teen here or there) were actually humans with friends and families, and how senseless it was to lose an officer under those circumstances.
I have since retired from my service, but every time I drive down Smyrna, or past the "Officer Frank W. Pysher Memorial Highway" signs on the Gene Snyder Freeway, I pause to think of Officer Pysher and that day.
Rest in Peace, brother.
Thank you sir. Rest in peace. You will not be forgotten.
god be with you tim and tasha you have always
I remember that day. I was working David but still made the scene. I had met you only a handful of times prior to that day, but you impressed me as a gentleman. Rest in peace.
