Roy, I have struggled all week to figure out what to say. I figured if I didn't write anything, you wouldn't really be gone. I keep expecting to wake up and this all be a horrible nightmare. How do I honor someone after 47 years of friendship? I read all of the wonderful things people have written about you and know how much you would hate all of the attention. It just goes to show how truly loved you always were. See, you weren't quite the a**hole you thought you were
Sorry. Praying for your family.
My family and I are still shocked by the news of the passing of our friend and colleague. My husband grew up around him and I had the pleasure of meeting him and his wonderful family while I was serving alongside Roy and his sons during my time on Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Department. It still seems unreal but I can't say enough good things about Roy. He was such an amazing and funny guy. His loss is definitely felt among many and I will always remember him fondly. I'm going to miss his Facebook posts explaining his views and opinions on things because he was never wrong lol. My heart goes out to his family and the rest of the brothers and sisters that are mourning the great loss. Sending prayers to all during this most difficult time.
