I met Mike when several of us joined a new Jefferson County PD police explorer post while in high school. We stayed in touch over the years and we both eventually went to work for the City of Louisville -- I with EMS, and he with Housing Authority PD. There we came into contact frequently. Mike was a good man who always had a passion to serve. I am happy that he lived to fulfill his dream of becoming a police officer -- which is all he ever wanted to do. His service ended much to soon...
I waited half my life for my brother to die. I am so pleased to see my brother finally get the recognition he deserved so many years ago! Thank you I know my Mother and Father would be pleased!
Mike,
It took the members of FOP 32 a while to get the City to admit that you were a in the line of duty death. But, it was worth it. R.I.P.
