To the family, friends, and co-workers of Officer Ellis, I cannot even begin to imagine what you're going through and how difficult this time must be. While you try to find a way to "pick up the pieces", please know that as police family we are here for you. Though I did not know Officer Ellis personally, I have heard many positive remarks about him both professionally and personally. May his legacy live within your hearts forever. I pray that each of you are comforted from a power greater than us all.

I did not know Officer Ellis, nor his family. I moved to Springfield, KY just 7 months ago. However, I, too, have the utmost respect for officers and realize the sacrifice they make on a daily basis. I am deeply saddened by this tragic, useless, event. To the family left behind, please know that you are all in my daily prayers. "Eternal rest grant unto Jason Ellis, oh Lord. And let perpetual light shine upon him. Amen. ". May God keep him and his family close and bring some sense of comfort and peace to all of them.
