My heart, as well as all of ours at the Sullivan County Ambulance Service goes out to Chad’s family and our Brothers at SFD. I consider myself privileged to have known Chad and to have worked close beside him. I struggle to find the words to describe the heartache that will be lingering with me and all of Sullivan County’s emergency responders. We sometimes become numb, though not fully, to the pain and suffering we all see on a daily basis. We divert our attentions to the tasks we must perform and then move on to the next. We never allow ourselves to dwell on the lasting effects, on those we serve, that come once our duty is done. Now those have been burdened upon us. We will endure, we will stand beside each other, and will we prevail. Our family may be one less here, but we have one more watching over us. Guide and protect us Chad. We will miss you.
God Speed my Brother.
Please keep Chad’s wife and two children in your prayers along with the Sullivan Fire Department.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Chad Null and the Sullivan Fire Dept.

Christopher J. Weir, division chief on behalf of the 62 brothers and sisters of the City of Port Orange department of Fire & Rescue "Fir na Tine"
My prayers go out to you and your department and to the family of Chad!
When I'm called to duty God
wherever flames may rage
give me strength to save a life
whatever be its age
Help me to embrace a little child
before it is too late
or save an older person from
the horror of that fate
Enable me to be alert
to hear the weakest shout
and quickly and efficiently
to put the fire out
I want to fill my calling and
to give the best in me
to guard my neighbor and
protect his property
And if according to your will
I have to lose my life
bless with your protecting hand
my children and my wife.
