While washing down spilled gasoline at the Wonder Bread Bakery, the vapors exploded burning several firefighters. Captain Leaman died from his injuries two days later. The incident also took the life of Captain Leaman's nephew, Firefighter Walter Leaman as well as Captain Clarence Anderson.
