His wife, Beulah Marie Jordan, and two sons: Ray Franklin Jordan, Jr (age 5) and David Lee Jordan (age 4)
Firefighter Jordan was fighting a fire in an apartment above a grocery store and bakery on East Washington Street when he began to feel ill. He was ordered by Chief Arnold Ford to rest. An ambulance was summoned shortly thereafter but he died on the way to the hospital.
Firefighter Jordan was a veteran of World War II.
