Although I was still a child when my cousin, William Kellems, was murdered, I still remember him vividly. Shorty after he had joined the Indiana State Police, Bill and his wife Allice stopped by my parents home at about one o'clock in the morning. It was a warm night in Indianapolis and when Bill and Alice saw that were still up sitting on a our front porch, the stopped and chatted for a few minutes. When my Dad asked Bill what they were doing out so late at night, Bill replied "oh we just wanted to see how many State Police cars we could see". He was that excited about becoming a Indiana State Trooper.
