Detective Rusnak was shot and killed while he was investigating a disturbance. Detective Rusnak's partner Officer George Lowe caught the suspect . Four years later Officer Lowe was shot and killed in the line of duty.
Convicted of second degree murder the suspect was sentenced to life.
