Incident

Special Deputy Engel was shot in the back of the head and killed while assisting with the transport of prisoners to the Indiana Reformatory. One of the prisoners had obtained a firearm from his girlfriend as they were being loaded onto the train for transport. It was Special Deputy Engel's first day on the job.
