Incident
Sergeant Lacy was killed in an automobile accident while driving his squad car. He previously served as a vice squad detective and was a member of the police color guard. In addition to his service with the Indianapolis Police Department, Sergeant Lacy was also a Navy veteran of the Korean War.

The Indianapolis Police Department has been disbanded and absorbed by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
