Incident
Officer Mardis with his canine, Amanda, were tracking a double-murder suspect when they were shot accidentally by fellow officers. Officers on the perimeter of the cornfield opened fire when the suspect ran from the field accidently hitting Officer Mardis.
The suspect was convicted for the double-murder and sentenced to death.
