Incident
Motorcycle Policeman Shipp was killed during a pursuit of a speeding vehicle. As he tried to pull alongside the wanted vehicle, he struck an on-coming vehicle. He was transported to City Hospital where he died the following day.
The wanted vehicle was never located.

The Indianapolis Police Department has been disbanded and absorbed by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
