Incident

Patrolman Bertram succumbed to injuries received five years earlier when he was involved in an automobile accident while responding to a burglar alarm call.

A vehicle pulled into his patrol car's path, causing a collision, and severely injuring Patrolman Bertram.

Patrolman Bertram was a veteran of the United States Navy. While in the Navy he was a heavyweight boxer in the Golden Glove competition with a 12-0 record.
