Incident

While responding to a reported fire, a collision occurred between the trucks from Hose House #4 and Hose House #9. Firefighter Thompson, the driver of #9, died from injuries that he received. Captain James Overby, also of #9, died in the accident and Firefighter Charles Watson died several months later from his injuries. The accident also severely injured another firefighter.
