Incident

Firefighter Maddy and members of the Eaton Vol Fire Dept had responded to numerous arson fires since Wednesday evening -- 21 in less than 24 hours. A curfew was imposed and a "fire watch" was established. Several hours after concluding his duties, Firefighter Maddy was taken to a hospital with chest pain. He died a few hours later.

Dear Maddy family and Eaton Fire Department-

My heart goes out to you during this tragic time. There is really nothing I can say to make things any better. I just lost my husband to a heart attack in the line of duty 9 weeks ago and I can truly say I can understad the shock and pain you are feeling right now. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers. If you need to talk, please notify me via e-mail (bkhaugh@yahoo.com). My sympathy goes out to you all. My only advice would be to lean on each other for strength and be still and let God hold you up right now. He will if you let him.
