Incident
Firefighter Plummer was driving a horse-drawn ladder truck en route to a box alarm at East and Pearl Streets. As the truck turned from Pennsylvania onto Washington, it struck a utility pole. The accident threw Firefighter Plummer from his seat, causing severe head injuries. He died a short time later after being taken to a nearby hospital.
