Incident

While on a fire run with No. 18 Captain Loeb was thrown from the hose wagon when it was struck by No. 8 Hook and Ladder Company. Both legs were fractured.

After two months in the hospital he developed pneumonia and died.

Captain Loeb was appointed as a pipeman in November 1891 for the fire department. While at Engine Company No. 15 he was appointed captain of No. 18, and appointed captain of the No. 16 Engine Company in 1918.
