Incident

Captain Bundschu of Hook & Ladder #1 suffered a severe leg injury after he fell through a skylight while fighting a fire in the Pilcher Organ Factory on November 27, 1907. Glass embedded in his right leg which caused numerous issues including sepsis. In March of 1908, his right leg was amputated in an effort to save his life. Unfortunately Captain Bundschu died from his injuries on July 19,1908.
