Town Marshal Fisher was killed while assisting in the pursuit of a stolen vehicle on U.S. 36 near Lynn at approximately 8:30 a.m.
He was struck by the fleeing vehicle as he deployed tire deflation devices. Witnesses stated that it appeared that the driver struck him intentionally.
He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Marshal Fisher had served the town of Lynn for 25 years. In addition to serving as Town Marshal, he also served as Street Superintendent and was an EMT and longtime member of the Lynn Volunteer Fire Department.
