Chief Russell Hamilton Jr.

Chief Hamilton died following a long battle with occupational cancer.

He began his public safety career as an EMT in 1982 with the North West Ambulance Service. In 1983, he joined the Rock Hill Fire Department as a Firefighter/EMT. He later served with the Ballwin Fire Protection District and then the Metro West Fire Protection District, from which he retired as a Captain in 2018. Following that retirement, he continued his service as Chief of the Union Fire Protection District until his retirement in 2024.
