His wife, one and five-year-old daughters, his parents, and two brothers
Shortly after 3:00 a.m., during the city's annual Emancipation Day celebration, Sergeant Hudson and fellow officers responded to reports of a shooting at a bar on the city’s west side.
Upon arrival, they encountered an extremely chaotic and volatile scene. Three young women had been shot—two of them critically—and multiple shooters were involved. One of the shooting victims died a few days later.
Following the incident, Sergeant Hudson began to feel unwell. He initially discounted his symptoms and attributed them to food poisoning. However, as time passed and his condition worsened, he realized it was something more serious and sought medical attention.
Tragically, he passed away two days later due to a cardiac event suffered in the aftermath of the shooting.
There are 2 tributes for Sergeant Ryan Hudson.
