Deputy Sheriff Arvin Earl Kays

Deputy Kays was suffered life-changing injuries when your patrol vehicle was stuck at an intersection by a speeding vehicle and was then knocked into a concrete wall. He was transported to an area hospital where he underwent multiple surgeries.

Deputy Kays became permanently disabled and medically retired. He was wheelchair-bound and suffered significant mental decline.

He succumbed to complications of his injuries 22 years later.
