Winchester Fire Department responded to a working structure fire in a two-story residence on Watson Street in Winchester along with the following mutual-aid departments: White River Fire, Lynn Fire, and Farmland Fire.
While battling the structure fire, Firefighter Sanders began not feeling well. He exited the structure and was taken to an ambulance. He collapsed into cardiac arrest shortly afterward. Immediate aid was rendered, and he was transported to Winchester Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
