Incident
Winchester Fire Department responded to a working structure fire in a two-story residence on Watson Street in Winchester along with mutual-aid departments.
While battling the fire, Firefighter Sanders began to feel unwell. He exited the structure and was taken to an ambulance. He collapsed into cardiac arrest shortly afterward. Immediate aid was rendered, and he was transported to Winchester Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
