Incident
Officer Carson was killed in a motor vehicle crash during a pursuit.
The driver of the vehicle being pursued crashed a short distance away, was taken in to custody, and was charged with aggravated fleeing a stop resulting in death, second-degree felony murder, possession of a controlled substance, unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action.
In June 2025, the Grand Glaize Bridge in Osage Beach (MO) was designated the "Police Officer Phylicia Carson Memorial Bridge."
