Incident
Assistant Chief Osgood was killed in a tanker rollover at approximately 6:00 a.m. The incident occurred as the tanker approached an S-curve near Randolph County Road 1000-W and County Road 400 North.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. No other vehicles were involved.
Assistant Chief Osgood and Firefighter Zachary Lee were responding to the report of a barn fire just north of the accident location. Firefighter Lee suffered critical injuries and was transported via medical helicopter to a Fort Wayne Hospital.
Assistant Chief Osgood had been a fixture at the firehouse since he was a child, as his grandfather previously served as Chief.
