Detective Sergeant Griffith and a fellow officer were shot shortly after arriving on the scene of a complaint at Casey's convenience store at 115 South Highway 19 in Hermann. The incident occurred just before 9:30 p.m. Sunday evening.
The second officer suffered critical injuries.
