Master Trooper Bailey was struck and killed by a vehicle fleeing law enforcement on Interstate 69 in DeKalb County (between Fort Wayne and Auburn).
As Trooper Bailey was trying to clear traffic from several crashes, he was notified that a vehicle pursuit by Fort Wayne Police was coming his way on the interstate. He was struck by the fleeing vehicle as he was deploying stopsticks.
