Incident

Just after leaving other officers to patrol for drunk drivers, Officer Medlock's patrol vehicle was struck at an intersection by a suspected drunk driver who ran a red light while traveling at a high rate of speed. The crash occurred at approximately 12:50 a.m. at the intersection of Main Street and Kentucky Highway 229.

Officer Medlock was pronounced deceased at the scene.

In August 2024, the driver was convicted of Murder and sentenced to 20 years in prison.
