Officer Howard and Officer Anthony Burton were sitting in their patrol car in a parking lot when it was intentionally rammed. The operator of the other vehicle had been involved in a standoff with officers earlier and had been freed on bond. The suspect was apprehended but commited suicide while awaiting trial.
