Lieutenant Cheeks went to a residence to serve an domestic violence related emergency protective order. The Dept had received a call earlier from someone saying that he was the person the order was on and that he was there to receive it.
When Lieutenant Cheeks knocked on the door, someone opened it and immediately shot him.
The person who shot Lieutenant Cheeks was the brother of the person named in the order and is the one who had made the call.
Lieutenant Cheeks was posthumously promoted to Lieutenant.

Floyd's boxing name was Pretty boy floyd..........he was a good boxer..fast on his feet and quick hands.....I used to workout in the same boxing gym at 28th and main in the basement on the vfw......floyd is missed very much.....god bless
