Deputy Constable Scott was shot and killed in Garrett Kentucky on February 13, 1926.
The perpetrator who shot Deputy Scott fled to Wisconsin where he also killed Winegar Town Constable George Rutherford on August 12, 1926. Constable Rutherford was attempting to serve a warrant on a man for wife desertion when he discovered a moonshine operation and was shot.
