Officer Tamarris L. Bohannon

At approximately 5:45 P.M., officers responded to a report of a shooting. Officer Bohannon was shot soon after he arrived. As other officers rushed to his aid, more shots were fired and a second officer was struck in the leg.

The suspect fled to a nearby residence, ordered the residents out of the home at gunpoint, and remained barricaded inside until he was taken into custody approximately 12 hours later.

Officer Bohannon was taken to a nearby hospital where he died from his wounds.
