When Firefighter Blackmer did not return home, his fiancee became concerned and contacted other firefighters.
They found him dead at the firehouse at approximately 9:45 a.m. He had apparently suffered a fatal heart attack while cleaning his equipment following the previous run.

We are saddened to hear about the death of firefighter Jeffery Blackmer. Our hearts are still aching over losing our son in a LODD last month and now it hurts even more. Our prayer is that his kids and fiance will always have good memories and they will always have family and friends to lean on. May God bless you. RIP Brother.
