Firefighter Blass Argus

On the morning of the incident, Saint Joseph Firefighters responded to a row of buildings on fire on the West side of Second Street near the Blacksnake Bridge. The fire was all but extinguished and firefighters were leaving when it was reported to them that a young man had perished in the building and had been seen in the debris. Firefighters rushed back to the scene and began searching. A wall collapsed during the search killing Firefighter Argus and injuring several others.
