Firefighter John Conway

Firefighter Conway became trapped after a collapse while working at a fire at the Cupples Woodenware Factory on Elm Street. Rescue efforts went on for hours as firefighters attempted to remove the heavy timbers that had fallen on him. He died at the scene. The fire also claimed the life of Firefighter Michael Kehoe. Both firefighters were assigned to Salvage Corps #1.
