Incident

While working at a fire in the East Bottoms, Captain Craig of Hose Reel #1 became blinded by smoke and fell approximately fifty feet into an elevator shaft. The fire occurred in a building under construction in November of 1886. He died a little over three months later at The Sisters Hospital from the injuries that he received.
