On October 10,1997 EMT Norma Lane was responding to a call to transport a patient from Putnam Memorial Hospital to University Hospital in Columbia, MO. While en route she was involved in a life threatening motor vehicle accident. EMT Lane was transported by her co-workers to Putnam Memorial Hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.
