Incident
On September 9,1973 LPN Wilma Francis was working with the Caldwell County Ambulance District. She was transporting a stroke patient to Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe, MO when she was involved in a motor vehicle accident. LPN Francis was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Her death is believed to be the first EMS line of duty death recorded in the State of Missouri.
