He is survived by his wife Juya Barnett, daughter Mia Barnett, son Jesse Barnett, his parents James and Wanda Barnett, sister Pam Barnett, niece Whitney and nephew Jacob
On May, 27, 1993 veteran helicopter pilot James S. Barnett was transporting a trauma patient from Bethany Hospital en route to Kansas City Metro Hospital. During the flight the helicopter crashed into a corn field near Cameron, MO.
Pilot James S. Barnett was pronounced deceased at the scene as was the patient being transported. Two crew members were injured and transported the hospital.
In addition to his Service as a life flight pilot, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Korea to pilot for Generals and VIP's.
Pilot James Barnett had over 5000 hours of flight experience.
