EMT Brown was survived by his father
After completing a medical call, EMT Brown and his partner, Paramedic Katherine Malone, returned to the Edwardsville Fire Department and backed their ambulance into the station. Unbeknownst to them, an intruder slipped into the station at the same time. The two were later found dead, each with multiple gunshot wounds.
Paramedic Malone and EMT Brown lived together. An arrest warrant for the murders was issued for Paramedic Malone's ex-husband. He was found dead from an apparent suicide later the same day as the murders.
